11.02.08 Puxi

Saigon was 6 million of people, 1 million of cars and 3 million of freaking motorbikes. Shanghai is a lot of good food and some of the best hospitality in the world but also pick-pockets in tourist areas and millions of freaking Chinese in the underground (and elsewhere).

Besuch im Longhua Tempel und Welcome im Jahr der Ratte!

03.02.08 Shanghai

I was supposed to arrive in Shanghai early on 2 February but due to weather conditions the flight was diverted to Beijing. Losing one day is one thing. Going through customes with a rucksack full of illegal fruit at 2 insteady of just 1 airport in China is another. There are countries not far away who use dogs for finding anything edible and I don't think you want to get in conflict with the law out here.

01.02.08 Bangkok

I spotted a mint red Alfa 2000 GTV in a Bangkok street and then even met the owner at the garage round a few corners, where there were many other Alfas. Among these an early Alfasud, a 1750 GTV, Giulia Berlinas, a 2000 Berlina for childhood memories.

The owner of the red '73 Bertone had just been on the final testdrive. He would drive the car home to 900 km away Phuket that same night. His daily driver is a 156.

Hopefully man and machine made it safely.
